Everything went like you previously planned and you showed a high level of honesty, professionalism and preoccupation with your hunters. Nowadays is not so easy to find correct and honest people in the hunting business so receive my congratulations for the hunting you organised for me that was just perfect. The lady from the guest-house was fantastic and although the lodgement is not luxurious, it was a very nice experience especially for the direct contact with the people, the landscape and the nature of Scotland. James the stalker showed to me very good knowledge of his job, he made everything he could to satisfy my hunting expectations and he is also a very nice person. I got the better buck in the last outing and morning that he gave me free of charge apart from the 10 booked outings. It's a nice animal that by the Portuguese and Spanish measurement system might be a bronze medal. We caught seven bucks not exceptional ones but at least 3 OK and the others small, but hunting is just like that, and sometimes the stalking and the shoot for me, are somewhat more important than the dimensions of the head. To sum up it was I very nice week that your organisation arranged to me and my wife and of course I plan to come back, probably with some friends, but next time to look for the gold medal. Michael, I just thought I should mention that we had the most perfect time and that it got 10 out of 10 . The hotel was absolutely adequate with above average food even if not super luxurious accommodation but what was outstanding was the pleasure of being on the hill with someone as likeable and diligent as David. Good hunting grounds excellent food and a very professional guide. Thanks for organising my trip to Poland in February. The lodge, food and the guides were first class, the interpreter was pleasing on the eye too! We saw plenty of game and shot more than enough. Well Michael, my hunt is over now. It was truly a hunt of a lifetime. The quality of the trophies I harvested was much better than expected. The performance of the guides was second to none and the accommodation was nice and close to the hunting area. I just wanted to thank you for providing an honest and wonderful hunt for me. I may be interested in the possibility of hunting Scottish red deer within a couple of years. If so, you will be the one I will contact. I had a great time with Mike and Pete. ....."as you said, the weather was a bit warm and unfortunately, the rut was yet to come. Even so, I found the trip to be another great experience! These days, I find myself spending less time collecting "trophies" and more time collecting new regions, traditions and friends.
Speaking of friends, David has easily made it on to that list. He is an excellant gamekeeper. During our hunt, he was personable, knowledgable and patient. His ability to spot game that were bedded in the heather was uncanny! Truthfully, getting to spend three days with him was worth the price of admission!
While the stags were sparse, we did connect with two on the first day. For me, it was a very unique opportunity to harvest two trophies at one time. This is something that we can rarely experience in the US. His equipment is first class. The rifle that he provided for me to use was among the most pleasant I've ever fired. It was a Sako .243 that was fitted with a silencer/moderator. This too was a unique and very interesting treat for me. My friends here in the US are very jealous and are now wishing that they had come with me for this hunt!
The B&B was very comfortable and the breakfast's were excellant! The owner is a great cook and a gracious hostess... genuinely nice person who went the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. Together, they made me feel at home.
Lastly, I really appreciated your dedication to both David and myself. It is refreshing to see an agent who remembers their clients during and after the hunt. I have never had a booking agent check on the progress of a hunt while I was in-country. I'm sure that I'll be back to hunt Hill Stags (and probably pheasants) with David in the future. I envy you both, living in such a beautiful part of the world!". D.S. U.S.A.
