Grant Abrahamson a plains game hunting
outfitter owns and runs East Cape Safaris which is situated
in the Eastern Cape of South Africa; 200 km north of the city of Port
Elizabeth. His family has been in the area for 5 generations and they
own 20 000 acres where their Lodge is situated; with 20 different
antelope species present on their private property. In
addition they have exclusive use of 100 000 acres within a radius of 30
km around us where we have access to a further 15 species. This is
a total of 35 huntable species within a 30 km radius. Their
hunting season runs from April through to October; and they do occasional
safaris throughout the year according to demand.
The majority of safaris run for a 8 to 10
day trip in which they do at least one day trip as a non hunting day to
various national parks in the area. They encourage
family safaris as the area is very family friendly; and from past
experience clients who have brought their wives; sometimes with much
persuasion; land up coming back with the whole family.
They pride themselves on excellent service
and are personally involved 24 hours every day with every group. Mixing
of groups does not occur and the camp is exclusively occupied by the one
group only. Only when they have one hunter alone do they charge a
extra fee for camp exclusivity.
Sightseeing days can be combined with hunting trips. Cape Wine Route, The Garden Route , whale watching , wildlife safari viewing and so many other attractions can be arranged.
